Ok, so like a bunch of other people, I was awed by Mysteryben27’s animated video that goes along with Mystery Skull’s song Ghost.

After watching it multiple times, I started noticing small things that I skipped right over the first time. After linking some things together, you see a wonderfully put together narrative with a bit of a darker side than what I first thought. So, I wanted to analyze them.

The Crime Scene:

Something interesting here is that the girl and the dog are both also in the scene, not just yellow and purple boy. However, the girl only sees that purple boy fell, not how he fell. The dog though, he saw the whole thing.

The Mirror Scene:

When the girl sees her reflection, the eyes are gone. She didn’t see what really went down.

When the dog sees his reflection, it breaks. To me this symbolizes that he knows what happened, but can’t show anyone.

Now for the yellow boy, I had to think a little bit on this one. Why is his arm gone? Let’s move on before answering that question…

Back At The Crime Scene:

In the beginning of the flash back, we see yellow boys arms. Nothing out of the ordinary, right?

However, in present time, you can see that one of his arms looks.. different. It’s a fake arm. Now, how did that happen?

In a very quick flash, there’s a silhouette of a demonic looking fox or dog with an arm in its mouth. Now… who all was at the crime scene again? Yellow boy, purple boy, and.. that’s right, the dog!

That means after yellow boy pushed purple boy off, the dog bit his arm off. Yikes.

So, going back to yellow boys mirror image- he has no arm. It shows HE is the one responsible, but because the girl can’t see, and the dog can’t tell, no one will ever know.

These little things were just parts that didn’t stick out to me until after I watched it a couple of times, and I was really amazed by such story telling, I just had to share! If you haven’t seen the video, I HIGHLY suggest you do!!

There’s a bunch of other awesome uses of symbolism in there too, but this particular part of it all… I just… Dang son.
