you now how dnd have a Kenku race, they re usually seen as a crows,
but
what if there was other kind of birds,
a Cockatiel to be exact
After someone posted this in our D&D Discord chat, I just had to make a race variant based on the art. Here’s the Tieltu:
Tieltu are cheerful, social, and have love being the center of the attention. They are able to mimic anything after hearing it once, from jokes to songs to riddles. Their keen eyes are good at spotting potential audiences, and their ability to bluff others with their mimicked voices is well-known
Ability Score Increase. Your Charisma score increases by 2, and your Wisdom score increases by 1.
Age. Tieltu reach adulthood in their teens and live about as long as humans.
Alignment. Because their survival depends on how social they are, most Tieltu lean towards the Neutral Good alignment. They tend to be a race of bards, but they also make good clerics and paladins due their good natures.
Size. Your size is Medium.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Clear Mind, Clear Voice. You have advantage on Charisma saving throws.
Mimicry. You can mimic any sounds you have heard, including voices. This talent extends to handwriting. A creature that hears your sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful Wisdom (Insight) check, and a creature that sees your forgery can tell it is a forgery with a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check. The DCs of these checks are each equal to 8 + your Charisma modifier + your proficiency bonus.
Voice of Recall. You have proficiency in the Performance skill.
Languages. You understand Common and Auran, but can only speak through your Mimicry trait.
Okay but also consider
A Mockingbird Kenku. As a bard. A Mockingbard
